How the crosses are engraved (ZPHC & ZFTC)

Has any thought been given to changing the way that these crosses are engraved. An awful lot of time is spent when the laser arm goes the entire length of the cross when only the arm is to be engraved. If you could change it so that the arm engraving only travels the width of the arm, you would save 10-15 minutes on the small crosses and about 30 minutes for the large crosses.....just a thought.

    Thanks,

In the interest of simplicity, we have just left these alone. There is a way to speed these up like you suggest: change the color of the text/artwork on the crossbar or the vertical bar so the elements get run separately. You will have to ensure that the power and speed settings for the alternate color are the same (unless you intentionally want it to look different). You'll also need to make sure the bitmap mode is set to "Gray levels" instead of "Automatic." Another alternative is to send the job in two parts by selecting just the vertical elements and sending & running the job, and then selecting and sending & running the horizontal elements. Please Note: either of these tricks can result in a change in the autofocus location that the machine picks. Always watch for where the autofocus sensor touches the piece at the beginning of the job!
