    build 5

    Should we be installing the newer version of the Grav. software? I notice that you have build 5 for download, and we currently are using build 4. I didn't find any instructions on this nosing around the site.

    Hi David,

    Most of the time the answer is no, you don't have to download the new build of the software. Build 5 fixes an issue that some computers have running the gravostyle software. Usually, the issue consists of missing rulers, a box with an X showing instead of images, or the screen turning completely black. Stores either have this issue frequently, or not at all, so if you haven't had this issues, the fix isn't necessary. Also, for those with 5.2 software, the issue doesn't apply.

    It is important to note that a build is not the same as a version, so if you update, your software will not read "Gravostyle 5.5," rather, it will read "Gravostyle 5.4.0.0, Build 005." Your build version can be found by clicking the question mark, then "about", and then clicking the large Gravostyle icon in the pop-up window.

    For those who want to upgrade their software, please do not do this on your own, as we make various tweaks to the software to make it work properly with our files and scanners. Please call tech support before upgrading and we will help with the process. Hope this helps clear things up!
